A tobacco house that started in 1948 didn't think of its blend as a recipe. It thought of it as a signature. Seven chapters later, that signature sits under lips across India and beyond.
Cool Lip is not merely a product. It's an attitude. It's a personality. It defines the modern age, where people know they need to quit other forms of tobacco that are more harmful.

Our home:
Sonepat
In 1948, on the plains of Haryana north of Delhi, a family tobacco house opened its doors in Sonepat. The name on today's box, Tej Ram Dharam Paul, is the name that was on the first ledgers. The company that carries the work forward, Tulip Packaging Private Limited, still makes every Cool Lip pouch there.
Seventy-plus years is a long time to keep one promise: that the tobacco leaving the gate is better than the tobacco that came in. That promise is the whole business.

The leaf:
hand-picked
Every pouch starts as a leaf someone chose by hand. Cool Lip is prepared from hand-picked tobacco leaves, selected for the character they bring to the blend rather than the volume they add to the bale.
From raw tobacco to dispatch, each workflow is designed to reach the highest quality standard available. Careful work makes an excellent product. There is no shortcut in that sentence, and we have never found one.

the heart of Cool Lip
Our morning tea tastes different every day. Cool Lip does not. That consistency comes from a world-class blending system built around one recipe.
The recipe was developed through extensive research, including chemist tours to different parts of the world where we studied hundreds of smokeless tobaccos. What came back was a blend of Indian tobacco heritage with a modern outlook of the West: rich spices, the natural aroma of sandalwood oil, a plethora of floral essences, and mint for the chill.

The pouch:
6.12 grams
Snus, a moist, finely ground, smokeless tobacco, was born in Sweden about two hundred years ago. Cool Lip brought that idea home and gave it an Indian voice.
Each filter pouch weighs 6.12 grams. It is made with chewing-gum composites that give a pleasant flavour and a long-lasting aroma, so it sits under the lip comfortably and works for twenty to thirty minutes. Spit-free. Smokeless. Nothing for anyone else to notice.

Do you know that every pouch is weighed before it goes into the box? Even with world-class machines there is always room for error, so we removed the room.
Each filled pouch is weighed mid-air, before it drops into its secondary packet. State-of-the-art German and Japanese checkweighers make sure every pouch weighs exactly the same. Passion, youth and love go into each sachet, and so does a scale.

Twenty to thirty minutes of a fresh, lingering aftertaste. Then repeat.
Since it is not burned, it creates no tar. No mischief from cigarettes, no passive smoke for the people next to you.
The world:
a cult brand travels
Cool Lip launched in 2008 and became a cult brand among its followers, the kind of product people ask for by name. Then it packed its bags.
In 2019 we presented Cool Lip to the European market at Intertabac in Dortmund. More recently we took it to the Tobacco Plus Expo in Las Vegas. At home, the name travelled further than we did: independent singers from Punjab to Chennai have released more than a dozen songs called "Cool Lip". Hear them.
